Kyanite Points!

We love these blue Kyanite points! We have a variety of lengths & thickness but all have a long, pointed shape, with delicate or more weighted looks to choose from. Each smooth stone has a hole drilled near one end, and is perfect for wire wrapping into a pendant.

Choose a fine wire or heavier wire gauge to complete your piece--use your imagination with wire wrapping for styles and variety.
Wear your pendant on a chain, or add a Kyanite pendant as an accent in a wire loop necklace, as shown below. Blue kyanite can activate mental communications, psychic capacities and aids lucid dreaming. It also helps to clear and re-align the Chakras.

Everyone should have some Kyanite in their jewellery - facilitating beauty, inside and out!

April & Aries Birthstone

The Birthstone(s) of APRIL & ARIES

Diamond's are more than the clear, multi-faceted style, found set into rings often associated as "a girl's best friend". They are so much more! We carry a rough-cut diamond bead, beautiful in it's imperfection, in a deep sparkly grey or jet, sold in little one inch lengths ~ making diamonds assessable to all!

The Diamond is April's birthstone. It is believed to conduct the planetary energy of Mars, drawing toxins from the body, increasing inner strength and promoting balance, clarity and abundance.  It was thought to bring victory in war and was worn by royalty to keep them safe in battle.  Diamonds are also thought to be effective for health problems related to the pituitary glands and the brain.

There are several birthstones associated with the Aries zodiac sign, depending on the country of origin.  Western alternatives to the diamond include Aquamarine, said to stimulate youthful happiness and relieve anxiety, as well as Bloodstone, known for increased physical strength and enhanced courage.

According to Hindu astrology, Jasper (particularly of the Red variety) is believed to inspire perseverance, balance positive & negative energy and helps to stabilize the often restless and naturally impulsive Aries temperament.  Topaz is another alternative birthstone, used for improvement of eyesight and protection from injury.

Rain, Rain Come and Stay

I know, most people don't like the rain. The cold, wet grey skies make many feel blue and drab, but have you ever noticed how vibrant colors are against a grey back drop?  Have you seen how green green can be? How yellow can pierce through the gloom?  And what is better than a steaming beverage and a fuzzy blanket on a couch near a window.
To me, rain is a blessing. Maybe I have read Dune* one to many times, but every time it rains I feel a surge of gratitude for the cleansing and nourishing water that just falls from the sky. There are so many reasons to love the rain.  Here is a list:
  • rain nourishes all of life
  • it washes away dust and funk
  • it leaves the world fresh and crisp
  • shades of grey, blue and lavender seen in a rainy sky
  • the way color comes out in rocks and stones! (magic)
  • the element of water relates to emotion
  • what better weather to stay home and rest, read, create and get things done
  • what better weather to stay home and bead all day?
  • you need water to make tea
  • swimmming
  • bathing & washing
  • puddle jumping
  • rainbows!
Honestly every time it rains I just feel incredibly lucky to live in the middle of a blue green rain forest.
Dark stormy grey rainy days remind me of Labradorite. What's not to love about that?

* Dune is sci fi novel written by Frank Herbert in 1965. A perfect novel for a rainy day.
