Birthstone For June: Pearl and Moonstone!

Here in the Northern hemisphere June is the month Summer comes to us full force, the month that the Sun in all it's Glory comes and graces us with hot rays of life energy.  It is fitting then that the birthstone for June is that of the Sun's Consort and Beloved - the Moon.
Pearls represent the moon for the obvious reasons; white, round, luminous.  Less obvious pearls typically represent water, emotions and fertility.  Fertility of the body, the mind, the spirit and the Earth Herself.

Moonstone is an alternate June Birthstone.  Also white and luminous, moonstone represents the Goddess and cyclic nature of life.  Moonstone can help you recognize and appreciate which phase of a project or circumstance you are in.  Are you planting seeds, tending to growth or harvesting the fruit of your labours?  All of these steps are vital and each can be recognized and enjoyed for what they are.

In the Southern Hemisphere where June brings in Winter,  the moon in her brightness reminds us that The Sun will shine and warm once again.  We can wear pearls and moonstones all year round to remind us that the fertility of Earth and of our bodies and Spirits is always available to us.
